Puckers Sports Grill has made a remarkable comeback, rising from the ashes of a devastating fire that completely destroyed its original building. The newly rebuilt establishment in Gatlinburg, Tennessee features a modern freestanding restaurant design, complete with advanced technology to elevate the guest experience.
Collaborating with LED Experts Group and Crimson AV, systems integrator Informed Logic delivered a stunning dvLED installation to help celebrate Puckers’ grand reopening. The centerpiece of the project is a massive 5 ft x 19 ft video wall with a 1.25mm pixel pitch dvLED, designed to captivate guests and enhance their enjoyment of sports, entertainment, and dining. This transformative installation was made possible through a strong partnership with NovaStar, an LED display control solutions manufacturer, and was completed just in time for the opening day.
Challenge & Solutions
The project faced a tight timeline, with only one week to complete the installation before Puckers’ grand reopening. Despite the time constraints, the installation team managed to overcome a firmware issue that initially threatened to delay the project. After a prompt technical support call, the issue was resolved, and the video wall was operational, displaying content in time for the opening. This quick resolution highlighted the effectiveness of the collaborative approach between the partners.
The Technology
- Video wall: The standout feature is a 5 ft x 19 ft dvLED screen with an impressive 1.25mm pixel pitch, ensuring vibrant visuals and sharp image quality.
- Displays: Puckers is also equipped with 19 additional TV displays mounted using Crimson pole mounts and wall mounts, strategically placed around the restaurant for optimal viewing.
- Control System: NovaStar’s LED display control solutions provided seamless management of the video wall, enabling flexible configurations for various events and entertainment purposes.
Implementation
The video wall installation required precise planning and execution, given its unique placement in the restaurant. Suspended from a steel beam, the video wall separates the dining room from the kitchen while cleverly incorporating a pickup window for wait staff. The team ensured seamless integration of the video wall with other AV systems, enabling multi-purpose use for live sports, karaoke, DJ music videos, and more. The collaboration between Informed Logic, Crimson AV, and NovaStar ensured the project was completed on time and exceeded expectations.
