Initial considerations led to the exploration of large LCD screens with thin bezels to achieve a seamless look. The project began as a 2×3 videowall but quicky expanded to a 3×3 configuration due to the success of the initial installation.
Challenge & Solutions
Integration partner, Just In Time Audio Video, proposed a solution utilizing Crimson’s Unistrut mounts for their reliability and ease of use. Initially, they suggested a large-format direct view LED screen, but the client opted for commercial-grade video panels to meet budget constraints. The Unistrut mounts proved instrumental in adapting to the changing requirements seamlessly.
After the initial 2×3 installation, the client, thrilled with the setup, expressed interest in a larger configuration. Justin revisited the residence, and due to the simplicity of Unistrut mounts, seamlessly transitioned from a 2×3 to a 3×3 solution without modifying the wall significantly. This flexibility showcased the adaptability of Crimson’s Unistrut mounts, enabling quick adjustments without compromising aesthetics.
The Technology
Unistrut Video Wall Mount with 8 Alignment Points & Push-In/Pop-Out Technology
This project utilized Crimsons’ Unistrut Video Wall mount. Designed for ease of use and installation, the VWG3U unistrut menu board mount makes installing video wall systems quick and simple. Mounting directly to unistrut channels in minutes, even large configurations can be quickly assembled by a single installer. Alignment is made easy with 8 different adjustment points, and no tools are required for wall brake adjustments, ideal in situations involving uneven walls. One touch lock-and-key mechanism keeps the display secure, while the push-in/pop-out technology ensures fast display servicing.

The project leveraged AVPro Edge’s MXNet, an AVoIP series, for efficient distribution across the nine 55” Samsung displays. This technology, seamlessly integrated with Control 4 for control, provided the client with the flexibility to display a full image across all screens or create independent images on each display. The use of AVPro Edge technology enhanced the overall functionality and user experience.
The MXNet series, manufactured by AVPro Edge, empowers the client with the ability to create dynamic designs and overlays. With nine displays at their disposal, they can queue up various configurations, offering the client options like a full-screen image on the top four displays with five independent images around the exterior. This capability provided a level of customization that met the client’s specific preferences.
Implementation
The successful integration of Crimson’s Unistrut mounts and AVPro Edge’s video distribution technology allowed for a seamless expansion of the residential videowall. The client not only achieved a visually stunning 3×3 configuration without additional wall modifications but also gained the ability to customize and control various display options.
